Fundraising Goals

As part of supporting or advocating resources for facility improvements the Chicago Women's Park and Gardens / Park 550 Advisory Council will:

1.  Support, participates, or leads advocacy for facility improvements - This may include working with community organizations, residents & park users, Park District Staff, Alderman's office, and other
municipal staff and stakeholders to identify needed operational or capital improvements through the Chicago Park District Capital Improvement Plan.

2.  Fundraise - Lead, communicate, or support Advisory Council and community fundraising efforts through social events, donations, partnerships, grant applications, and other volunteer efforts that can complement needed beautification, programming, supplies & equipment, or facility improvements and upgrades.

As the park was updated in 2000, a key objective of the Advisory Council and community is to maintain and improve and beautify the park that supports the vision and use for residents and visitors. 

Additionally, the Advisory Council may provide or raise funds for programs, special events, and community gardening efforts.

Indoor Facility / Field House Fundraising Goals -

As the indoor facility at 1801 South Indiana is undergoing phased renovation, the Advisory Council is tasked with trying to identify funds for decoration or needed features of the space that are not provided by Park District Capital or Operational budget funds.

General Fundraising Goals include:

Advisory Council Operating Expense Needs

> Advisory Council Operating expenses, Website, postage, etc.
> Advisory Council partner or advocacy memberships, 501c3 Fiscal Sponsorship Fees
> Required federal, state, or municipal permit or license fees.
> General supplies for arts & crafts, special events, new program initiation

> 1st Floor Art & Drawings for Kids Play Area, Conference Rooms and Entry Foyer
